Tech Tip: What Does the TPMS Light Mean?

TPMS stands for Tire Pressure Monitoring System. It watches the air pressure inside your tires and turns on that horseshoe-shaped dashboard light when a tire drops well below the recommended pressure. Cold weather lowers tire pressure, so in Northwest New Jersey you'll see it more often in the fall and winter. If the light stays on after you fill your tires, you may have a slow leak or a worn tire. Traveling Tire Service comes to your driveway in Morris and Warren counties to check it and install new tires if you need them.
